Writing for News and PR in the Digital Age
PRL 214
My Writing for News and PR in the Digital Age class helped me strengthen my PR writing skills through our overarching project for the semester. For this project, we selected a corporation and completed multiple assignments focused on our corporation that each required a different PR writing format. The corporation I selected for this project was Trader Joe's. Below are all of my written assignments for the class project, followed by three separate pieces of work from the course.
Advanced PR Writing for a Digital World
PRL 215
Here is a link to my blog, Mindful Slice, that I built and grew during Advanced PR Writing for a Digital World. You will find posts focusing on advice directed toward college students and young adults on maintaining a physically and mentally healthy lifestyle.
Before building my blog Mindful Slice, I created a brand persona infographic for my targeted audience. I designed the brand persona using Adobe InDesign, where I created a typical individual and included her demographic information, goals, brief introduction, etc.
This is another infographic that I designed on Canva, which introduces the SWOT analysis, what it is, and why it's beneficial for PR professionals to use.
Public Relations Research
PRL 315
Throughout the fall semester of my senior year, my Public Relations Research class focused on learning how to conduct a client report through various methods of research. These methods included organizing focus groups, analyzing data on Social Studio, and creating surveys for target publics to complete. Below is my group's client report for our client, Shein, alongside our class presentation containing our research and recommendations for the fast-fashion company.

Introduction to Graphic Design
VIS 207
While being able to improve my skills in PR writing, I've also gained more experience in graphic design and using Adobe programs in my Introduction to Graphic Design class. Here, I learned the important nomenclature needed for InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop, as well as how to create various projects with each program.
This project is a branding mockup for a historical figure. Using Adobe InDesign and Photoshop, I designed a mockup for Benjamin Franklin, which includes a logo, an envelope design, a personal contact card, and more.
For this project, I designed a campaign poster in Adobe Photoshop for an upcoming event. The event I selected was for a 2020 TEDx Conference.
The final project for the class was to create a magazine spread focusing on a news article. My topic for this project was John Krasinski's temporary YouTube show Some Good News that he created during the beginning of COVID-19 lockdowns in April 2020.
Public Relations Planning and Execution
PRL 325
Our final project for the class was to design a plan book for our client GSK. My team and I co-created and designed this plan book via Canva, where we input our conducted research from over the duration of the course.
In this Insights Report, I briefly explain GSK's current problem it's trying to achieve, introduce different trends, and offer recommendations through provided insights on what GSK should prioritize in order to reach its goals.
Public Relations Management
PRL 497
For the final assignment in my Public Relations Management class, we chose one key area of public relations and had to examine this area's best practices: something producing strong results and that is considered by others for wider application. I focused my paper on the field of political public relations and how it is impacted by fake news, as well as what experts in this field can and should do when dealing with fake news crises.
